Kindergarten -
We'll be data collectors in our last quarter of Kindergarten. Students will learn how to collect data and display it with the computer program, The Graph Club. Don't be surprised if our data collecting includes what is edible! Who doesn't love a graph where you get to eat the subject! First - After creating our own books in PowerPoint and producing a Word document to display what we learned about facts versus opinions, first graders will continue to sharpen their skills in Microsoft Office with animal diagrams, summer safety posters, and much more! Second - We'll head back to our Monster Project from the first quarter and create a written description in Word to share with our sister schools in New Jersey, Alabama, and Florida. Second graders love this project! Third - Third grade will wrap up their year by using PowerPoint to create a digital pitch for their inventions and learn a bit about Microsoft Excel, too! Fourth - After sharing their AMAZING Revolutionary War Fakebook pages, we tested one another's new knowledge with the web application KaHoot! It's a great way to get every child involved in their learning and a have a digital "camp fire" moment. Motivating! We'll finish the year by learning more about the power of Office365 while examining the abolitionist and suffrage movements. Fifth - For our last quarter we'll be learning about micro organisms and using the infographic building website, Easel.ly, to display their positive and negative attributes. Then we'll wrap up the year with a take on NPR's Storycorps to capture those lasting memories of Tritt as well as ensure that our fifth graders feel confident in their technology use as they transition to Hightower Trail Middle School. |
